What are the treatment approaches for persons experiencing grief?
emoWellness’ services are for clients with diverse backgrounds, needs, and strengths. A collaborative approach is used to determine goals and progression of care. Services take place in a confidential environment. Your therapist will draw upon evidence-based treatment modalities to promote healing. emoWellness’ primary approach to care is Person-Centered Therapy. Tenets from other approaches, such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Neuman's Nursing Theory may be used as needed. An evaluation of group process and group progression will help guide the needs of group members.
Grief experts have explored different topics on grief and mourning. The research findings on grief and mourning along with personal and professional experiences show that grieving may start before the loss. As grief can be consuming, coping with it may move back and forth before healing takes place. Coping with loss varies from person to person and from culture to culture. Creating new meaning in life after a loss promotes growth and healing. The readjustment to loss moves to a new life without forgetting the past. The saying, “Death ends a life but not a relationship” holds true.
